What This Tool Does

Change image dimensions to exact pixel values or by percentage, with optional aspect-ratio lock. The resizer accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, and HEIC, and processes up to 50 files in a single batch. Resampling uses high-quality Lanczos when downscaling, which preserves edge detail far better than the bilinear or nearest-neighbour resamplers shipped in many lightweight tools. Output preserves the source format unless you also choose to convert. Use it to prep website hero images at 1920px wide, generate retina @2x assets, fit photos under platform pixel caps, or shrink scanner output for email.

When to Use This Tool

Resize first, compress second — that is the single highest-leverage rule for image performance. A 4000×3000 photo dropped onto a page that displays at 1200×900 wastes more than 90% of the bytes downloaded. Resize before compressing whenever the source is significantly larger than the display size. For platform-specific dimensions (Instagram post, Twitter header, OG image), the Social Media Resize tool has every preset built in; use this generic resizer when you need an arbitrary pixel value or percentage.

How to Use

  1. 1

    Upload your images

Drop up to 50 files in any supported format. Mixed formats are fine; each file is resized independently.

  2. 2

    Set width and height

Enter pixel values, or switch to percentage to scale by ratio. Toggle 'Lock aspect ratio' to keep the original proportions and avoid stretching.

  3. 3

    Pick a resize mode

Stretch fits exactly to the dimensions you set. Contain fits inside the box and may pad. Cover fills the box and may crop. Use Stretch only when you control the source.

  4. 4

    Process and download

Click resize, preview each result, then download files individually or as a ZIP. Originals are not modified.

Privacy First — No Uploads

Your images are processed entirely in your browser. They are never uploaded to any server. Once you close the tab, all data is gone. No tracking, no storage, no cookies for your files.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I resize multiple images at once?

Yes. Upload up to 50 images and resize them all with the same settings. Download individually or as a ZIP file.

Will resizing affect image quality?

Downscaling generally preserves quality well. Upscaling beyond 2x the original may introduce some softness. For best results when enlarging, use the dedicated Upscale tool.

Does the resizer support batch with mixed formats?

Yes. You can mix JPGs, PNGs, WebPs, and HEICs in one batch. Each file is resized independently and keeps its original format unless you convert.

What is the difference between resize and crop?

Resize changes the dimensions of the entire image. Crop keeps the same scale but removes pixels from the edges. Use crop when the framing is the problem; resize when only the size is.

Is there a maximum input size?

Most browsers handle 30 MP images comfortably. Files above 50 MB or images larger than 12,000 pixels on either edge may be slow on mobile devices.

Pro Tips

  • For web hero images, 1920px wide is the largest size you typically need; 2x retina assets cap at 2560px. Anything above is wasted bandwidth.
  • Downscale by integer ratios (50%, 25%) when you can — the resampler produces sharper output than awkward fractions like 73%.
  • If you also need a smaller file, resize first and then run the Compress tool. Compressing a 4000px image is far less effective than compressing the resized 1200px output.
  • When fitting photos under a hard pixel cap (e.g. 1080px for Instagram), set the longest edge and lock the aspect ratio rather than entering both dimensions manually.
